All Progressives Congress’ presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has acknowledged that he has been a subject of lampoon on social media.
According to him, he has ceased to read articles on online platforms to avoid high blood pressure.
Among the top presidential candidates, Tinubu has been the most abused and insulted, with his slips often magnified and some even cooked up.
Observers have noted that these are coming from opposition, especially the Obidients – followers of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi; and those of the Peoples Democratic Party’s, Atiku Abubakar.
Some have, however, also argued that some of the assault has tribal coloration.
In a video posted on Twitter by one of Tinubu’s allies, Ademola Oshodi, he says: “I don’t read social media anymore; they abuse the hell out of me. If I read it, I get high blood pressure and angry.
“I don’t read it, so if I want to hear anything; my children or my workers will say this one said this, and when I’m tired, I say please forget it.”
